Veterans Day 2009
Alumni, students, and members of the UMass Amherst community gathered to commemorate Veteran's Day on Tuesday November 10. Guest speakers included Chancellor Holub and Maxwell Riley III of the First Radio Battalion, Marine Headquarters Group. A three-volley salute was fired at the close of the ceremony.
Helping Students Fall Into Success
The Alumni Association is participating in a series of career development events to help students prepare for life after UMass Amherst. A "Why Hire U" video competition gave students an opportunity to practice interview skills. Alumnus Plays Key Role in Return of Native American Remains for Burial
On November 16 Northern Mexico's Yaqui Indians buried the victims of one of North America's last Indian massacres. Their remains lay in storage at New York's American Museum of Natural History until Professor Ventura Perez MA '00, PhD '06 (anthropology) and a fellow anthropologist began to study them in 2007.

I would like to reconnect with my Zeta Nu fraternity brothers (1966-1971); the Class of 1969 Freshman Lacrosse Team, the only undefeated team on which I ever played; and become active in the South Shore and Cape Cod Umass Alumni Clubs."
