David K. Richter '96 is the New England Area Sales Manager of CitationAir by Cessna. Dave’s sales career began as a financial advisor with Prudential Securities, before being recruited by Salomon Smith Barney as one of their youngest vice presidents of investments. Dave then started his own investment firm catering specifically to corporations and high net-worth individuals, Magnum Portfolio Management.
After selling his company and making a career change to business aviation, Dave joined Bloomer deVere Group Avia, a large cabin private jet broker. There he developed a reputation for finding undervalued, off-market aircraft. Seeing the shift to fractional ownership and jet cards, he accepted an offer to join the operating division of Cessna Aircraft, CitationAir.
Dave currently serves as a member of the following organizations: Future Leaders of Business Aviation (president), Massachusetts Business Aviation Association (director), Jumpstart Young Professionals Board (Chairman), Boston Ballet (Nutcracker Magic Fundraising Committee).
Dave graduated from UMass Amherst in 1996 with a bachelor's degree in Hotel, Restaurant and Travel Administration. While on campus, he served as the Social Chairman and Pledgemaster for the Phi Mu Delta Fraternity.
Dave resides in Wayland, Massachusetts with his wife and daughter and is an elected member of the Alumni Association Board of Directors. He serves on the Signature Event Task Force. Dave is a Life Member of the Alumni Association.
