Mary E. Custard '82, '87G is the Dean of Students at Amherst Regional High School. Previously, she served as Interim Athletic Director at the High School. She was an alumni outreach coordinator as well as tutorial program coordinator and academic advisor for the Committee for the Collegiate Education of Black and Other Minority Students (CCEBMS) at UMass Amherst. She also served as a residence director and an assistant director of the Student Motivation, Initiation, Leadership, and Education Program in Residential Education at the University. Mary was an assistant director of Student Life / Multicultural Affairs at Emerson College. She is involved with the CCEBMS alumni group at UMass Amherst and was the recipient of the 2002 Amherst Martin Luther King, Jr. Community Service Award.
Mary graduated from UMass Amherst in 1982 with a Bachelor's degree in Physical Education and earned her Master's degree in Education from the university in 1987. She is currently pursuing her Doctorate Degree in the Cultural Diversity and Curriculum Reform Program through the School of Education at UMass Amherst. She resides in Amherst, Massachusetts.
Mary is a vice president of the Alumni Association Board, serves on the Governance and Executive Committees, and chairs the Programs and Services Committee. She is a Life Member of the Alumni Association.
