Alumni Association Board of Directors

William A. Carroll ’54 is retired from Pratt and Whitney, where he worked for more than 35 years. He held a number of positions with the company, including buyer and Senior Purchasing Manager and continued as a consultant after his retirement. Bill also served two years in the U.S. Army. He served as secretary of the Sigma Epsilon Alumni Board, chaired the Class of 1954 Reunion Gift Committee and was the UMass Amherst Connecticut Alumni Club Leader. Bill is also a member of the Varsity “M” Athletic Association. 

Bill graduated from UMass Amherst in 1954 with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration. Two of his children, William Carroll, Jr. and Elizabeth J. Metzger, also graduated from the university in 1984 and 1987 respectively. Bill resides in South Windsor, Connecticut. He is an elected member of the Alumni Association Board and serves on the Grants Review and Communications, Marketing, and Membership Committee. Bill has been a member of the Alumni Association since 1995.
