Michael Foley '72
Dr. Michael T. Foley ’72 is assistant professor of medicine at Tufts University School of Medicine and a practitioner of gastroenterology at St. Elizabeth's Medical Center of Boston. He was among the first graduating class of the UMass Medical School in Worcester, MA.
Foley is a tireless supporter of UMass Amherst. He has served for fifteen years as a member of the UMass Board of Trustees from 1988 – 2003, as well as the vice chair for the Board. He is a member of the School of Nursing Dean’s Advisory Board, fundraiser, mentor, and fan of UMass Athletics.
Foley has also served as the president of the medical staff at St. Elizabeth’s Medical Center, vice chair of the Clinical Management Board for the UMass Medical School, and from 1979 - 2003 the internal medicine consultant to the Boston Red Sox and physician in attendance at Fenway Park. He continues to live in his hometown of Arlington, MA with his wife Anne, and three children: Michael, Patrick, and Elizabeth, a current senior at UMass Amherst.
