Roberta (Bobbie) LaPorte ’74 is founder and principal of RAL & Associates, a consulting firm providing leadership and career development services to individuals and corporations. Before founding RAL & Associates, Bobbie served in GM, COO and CMO roles in Fortune 100 companies including IBM, General Electric, Citigroup, and United Healthcare. Through her consulting practice, she now helps industry professionals build leadership skills and discover the “best next step” in their careers.
Bobbie’s real passion is helping people find their place in the workplace, and she is recognized for her organizational development, team building and leadership achievements. She has a bachelor’s degree from UMass Amherst, and has completed advanced study programs at Harvard University and the University of Michigan Schools of Business. She is also a graduate of Coach University and a member of the International Coach Federation, the Professional Coaches and Mentors Association, and the Career Masters Institute. A frequent speaker and author on the powerful relationship between physical fitness and career success, she is an accomplished triathlete. Bobbie is currently training for her fourth Ironman triathlon.
Bobbie’s practice is built on helping clients connect with their passion and purpose in life. She believes that in today's global economy you can get paid to do work you love work you are good at and were "born to do". Her approach is hands-on, pragmatic and results-oriented, focused on helping clients build new skills, develop their professional credentials and keep themselves marketable. She draws on her extensive corporate leadership experience and her experience training for and competing in Ironman triathlon events to help her clients reach success and “cross the finish line”.
