Join the Student Legal Services Office (SLSO) to celebrate 40 years of lawyers advocating for students' rights at UMass Amherst. Reconnect with classmates, (including former and present legal assistant interns), law school clerks and student government leaders, while reliving the unyielding advocacy and legal services that SLSO has provided to UMass students.
In the afternoon, attend a
panel discussion to learn about the national security database of suspicious activities and its place in our democracy. Hear about the problems balancing the due process rights of citizens with the security provided by such a database. Facilitated by Attorney Charles J. DiMare, director of the student legal services office, the panel will feature notable attorneys.
Then in the evening, attend our
40th Anniversary Gala that will feature student musical performances and guest speakers, including past and present board members, directors and student leaders of SLSO. At the cocktail hour, socialize and network with fellow alumni and students while enjoying savory appetizers and a cash bar. A delicious buffet style dinner will follow.
