In 2009, UMass completed the construction of a $133 million gas-fired power plant to replace its old coal-fired facility. "Starting Monday, August 1, University Health Services (UHS) will shift from unobserved PCR testing and make PCR tests available to those in the UMass community with symptoms or known exposures. Elective testing will be available for a $25 fee. All students, faculty, staff, and members of their households who need testing due to symptoms or COVID-19 exposure can visit UHS for a PCR test."
