Moving Forward: COVID-19 Reopening Pathways

Person placing sign on door that says, "OPEN: business as new normal"

An unprecedented public health crisis, the COVID-19 pandemic has impacted all segments of society, bringing many aspects of everyday life to an abrupt halt. With successful efforts to flatten the curve in Massachusetts, reopening plans are cautiously moving forward.

But what does reopening mean for your community, business, or family and how can you prepare?

UMass Amherst experts will explore the public health, policy, and business implications of reopening during COVID-19 in this online discussion. Participants will learn about:

  • Fundamental aspects of COVID-19 identification, control, and elimination
  • Economic, cultural, and political forces shaping the evolution of the pandemic
  • UMass Institute for Applied Life Sciences lab, testing, and MA capabilities
  • Actionable response guides for the industry-specific sectors outlined in the course and panel discussion

This event is presented by the University Without Walls, in partnership with the Alumni Association, and based on the School of Public Health course, "Navigating the COVID-19 Reopening Pathways." Prior to the panel discussion, registrants will have exclusive access to key readings, followed by companion course materials such as recorded lectures, multi-media content, and response guides developed during the course. A private link to the resources site will be emailed upon registration.

There is no cost to participate; all are welcome.
