Social Media Resources

The Alumni Association encourages the use of social media to foster open, authentic communication with students, alumni, parents and supporters. The goal is to provide a valuable experience that supports the Association’s alumni relations strategy to:

  • Engage constituents in support of university and Alumni Association initiatives
  • Advance UMass Amherst through philanthropy and volunteerism
  • Provide educational, networking and professional development opportunities
  • Create opportunities for interaction between alumni and students

Certain volunteers such as network leaders may wish to set up and manage a social media account for their group. Work with your staff liaison in the Alumni Association to review your social media plans and request pages that may best fit your needs. The Alumni Association will build your pages to get you started. Then you can utilize the resources below to manage your pages so they are consistent with the Alumni Association brand and follow best practices.
