Recognizing Excellence
The Alumni Association is proud to recognize alumni and student achievement as an affirmation of the high value placed on scholarship, leadership, and service at UMass Amherst.
UMass Alumni Honors awards are presented each year to recognize the revolutionary and innovative members of the university's alumni community. The award recipients have translated their UMass Amherst experience into exceptional achievements across the spectrum, furthering the mission and impact of the university around the globe.
The most prestigious awards conferred by the Alumni Association, the Distinguished Alumni Awards are presented to alumni, faculty, staff and friends who have translated their UMass experience into distinguished achievement in their field of endeavor, bringing honor to the UMass Amherst community.
Bateman Scholars exemplify the university’s mission through professional accomplishments and public service. The program includes a visit to campus to conduct lectures and workshops and is another way the Alumni Association enhances the alumni and student experience.
The Troy Medal recognizes the outstanding accomplishments of distinguished alumni of the University of Massachusetts Amherst.
Each year, the Alumni Association presents more than 100 awards and scholarships totaling some $100,000 to UMass Amherst students.
